Freelancer Evolutions: VERSION - 2.28-2  Nomads Revenge
=====================================================
=====================================================

-------------------------------------------
2.28-2 -Re-uploaded the original mod at:

https://byrosonline.wixsite.com/dreams

Evolutions 2.28 has a working single player story mod, while version 2.29 does not.

Both have the great capital ship mass fix, so NPCs and other players CAN'T spin capital ships

as it happens in the rest of the mods, for this single reason Evolutions is quite different and much more

realistic.
-------------------------------------------

Please obey all server rules and please DO NOT cheat!!

Mod Information:
This includes the Evolutions 1.28 Mod (originally make by Chips and the Pathfinder Team).  However a number of bugs and errors have been corrected.  Evolutions 2.28 also includes a Nomads Revenge expansion.

Expansion details:
- Adds NPC-less Tourney system
- Adds Nomad Home system
- Adds new Player only Nomad vessels
- Adds two new Nomad Weapons
- Removal of Shield Generators.
- New Tournament Commodity's
- Adds new battleship's
- New Player ships
- The normal Nomad ships are no long available in Swansea, solely for role play prepossess
- A number of Evolution bugs/errors corrected.
- Various additions to some ships
- A number of other items that you'll just need to find :)

Player Information
==================
All the original warnings below still apply aswell.

1) DO NOT mount power capacitors onto a Nomad ship, doing so unmounts the invisible Nomad power plant.  You CANNOT remount this unit

2)For role play reasons, to become a "Nomad" and to use their ships etc requires server operator intervention

3)DO NOT have more than 100 unmounted items on one character, doing so will corrupt your account/character

4)IF you have upgraded from Evolutions 1.28 to 2.28NR, then if any of your charractors had a Shield Generator mounted on any ships etc.  You will now have an item called "Unknown Item" in your cargo hold.  You may sell this item for $10,000

PAY ATTENTION TO SERVER RULES AND REGS! DO NOT CHEAT!

PLEASE READ THE OTHER DOCUMENTS FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE MOD AND OTHER LINKS TO PAGES/EMAILS

First up - PLAYER WARNINGS ABOUT THE MOD!!! - so DO NOT COMPLAIN - you have been warned!
****************************************************************************************

1) Do NOT transfer power capacitors to your capital ships/transports, otherwise you will "unmount"
your invisible power supply onboard the capships/transports and have NO power.
This is because capital ships power units would be abused otherwise.
YOU CANNOT REMOUNT THE CAPSHIPS POWER SUPPLY.
You have been warned, and since re-buying a cap ship will cost a FORTUNE, you really HAVE been warned!

2) Do NOT sell your main power unit, as you will NOT have any power without it!

3) You cannot loot the starting ship, so don't pick on newbies, its pointless :)

4) The king, queen and crippler cruise disruptors/torps ALL require VAST amounts of energy to fire
If you cannot shoot them, it is because your power capacitor does NOT have enough capacity to allow you.
You will need to buy a larger capacitor.

5) The Capships and Large ships such as transports etc, all seem to exhibit a "Wag" when you click on
a location and use the "goto" feature. It also happens during the docking of craft with tradelanes.
Please, do not use the goto function, but navigate yourself, so as to save the "wagging" - which can be annoying.

WARNINGS IN RELATION TO SINGLE PLAYER
*************************************
1) Allow scripts to finish playing out. Dont go ahead of them even when you know what to do next.

2) Game has three places where it tends to hang. The space battle at Willard Research station,
space battle after meeting Van Pelt (in the Badlands of the New York System), and space battle in
Tohoku System. If action come to a pause and wont continue, exit game and launch again,
seleting autosave or most recent game save point.

3) watch out when killing ships during missions. If you obliterate them all and the game doesn't advance
automatically, then you may have been so quick that the game missed the "trigger" (like a line of speach),
which started AFTER you finished killing them, but in the FILES you can only complete the mission AFTER
the speach. At this point, load from last saved game, and do it again, but let the last one live until speach
has been completed. This is especially true when escorting the freighters mission in LA, where you meet
the cruisers of walker. If you kill the bombers too quick, you may not actually be able to proceed - so
take your time :)

A big thankyou for all the members of Pathfinderstudios - for bugs, suggestions and waiting for so long,
but especially the long suffering server admins:

Massive thankyou to Mwift, who continues to host our forums and downloads out of his goodwill!
His fantastic continuous contribution as a team member that gives us a place to tout our wares,
and enables people to come and discuss/join in the fun.

Mwift runs Nightedge hosting - who host websites and servers for gamers alike.

Please check them out at www.nightedge.net - and refer them to friends if they are looking for gaming servers.

Alot of hassle has been made over this area, so i would like to thank
those that i personally benfited by learning to do this from. Also - the
people who allowed the use of their creations in this mod(ie - ships).

If you have a problem with anything in the mod - then contact IN FIRST - myself

Mikejgarlick@aol.com

After all - if you don't let me know what your grief is - how can i fix it??
Then you may moan however much you like afterwards

For helpful hints/tips right down to tutorials:
***********************************************
Accushot - His thread was informative, and where i learnt how to mod.
He continues to suprise me with outstanding talent. An asset to our team :)
Since joining, Accushot has jumped into the coding fully, and also creates alot of the new things we have
featured, like startup screens, backgrounds and more!

Giskard - The man taught me how to do nearly all the advanced modding stuff here, and bailed me out when stuck.
His systems teaching got us all making systems!

Victor - such great advice and debugging tips on problems. Victor always helped me along the way with solutions
to many problems that i encountered, and opened my eyes on how to effectively debug!
Always consider him as a "double act" with Wanderer

Wanderer - Great help in troubleshooting, converting NPC ships, and handling settings on ships.
He also picked me up when things went wrong, helped me search for solutions in unknown places and more.
"Double Act" with Victor

Soulforge - for being one of the first to really start the modding ball rolling.
There are too many others to mention sadly.

Nephilim - This mod is using Nephilims capship encounters scripts.

Michael Dan - For the original idea of extra equipment (boosters/generators) and capital ship killing missions.

Caid - for sounds effects wav files for weapons.

Wasabe - for the brilliantly mega important player looting aspect. See below!!

If you wish to use some things that you see in the modification, then please credit myself.
Some areas such as Michael Dans Equipment (power/boosters boosters/regenerators) have been expanded upon
in a new way by myself. If you wish to utlise the method i have used, then please still credit Michael Dan
as well as myself.

The extension of NPC levels is my own work, so if you wish to use this,
please credit me in the use of it. For Factions names in missions text and bribes information, i have made a
post to inform people of how i achieved it on the forums. Please give credit where its due.

The very nice coding for re-cloaking of the ships during missions is down to Accushots genius - and we kindly
ask for permission to be sought for IF you wish to include it in a modification. Accushot also created all the
files for the startup screens - excellent stuff.

MASSIVE special shout out goes to the best new modder, who has made the most important advancement in the game.
*******

PLAYER LOOTING - which is down to Wasabe!!! Congratulations, you have changed the MP aspect of the game forever!
It now has the possiblity of being REAL roleplay, as looting of players is now possible. Piracy anyone? :)
Wasabe also won the Lancers Reactor Greatest ever modder award - which i personally think THIS development
he discovered ECLIPSES the server errors readout!!!!

The Red Hessian Sabre
The Red Hessian Stilleto
The Red Hessian Dagger
The Red Hessian Gladius
The Mining Ship
The Cimmarron
The Mustang
The Trident

The modelling team has recently grown with the addition of new members.
PantherX started out as the first member, and is therefore responsible for most of the ships.
All ships are of Pathfinderstudios origin originals, and each member textured their own models.

PantherX: The Fury, Serpentail, Paladin, Orca, Hellhound, Testudo, Gladius, Halberd, Cimmarron, Mustang, Trident
and the Red Hessian Versions of the Border World Ships, The Mining Ship.
Osprey: The Sentinel.
Illero: The Mining Ship.

Each member does far more than just model, with Illero working upon further ships projects, and stations models.
Osprey works upon icons as well as ships, and also undertakes ini coding as well
(he is responsible for systems shortest path files). Osprey also features heavily in hardpointing many new
ships, especially Firebases ships that were exported again from Milkshape upon completion of retexturing
and removal of some poly's. To use any of these models is forbidden without express permission of
Pathfinderstudios and the creator of the models. For the time being, the models are to remain exclusive
to Evolutions, which means that permission will not be granted to enable use for other modifications.
They may not feature in any publicly available or circulated modifications unless permission is granted by
Pathfinderstudios. In future they may be released for general use.

Wanderer left the Freelancer community at the Lancers Reactor, although I believe he still remains active
at Ioncross, and may be involved in the upcoming Ioncross multiplaying extravaganza modification.
Wanderer left a "free to use" open end invitation to modders as long as credits are correct and pointing
towards him his models/textures. However, out of decency, if you wish to use Wanderers models, you should
either find his email address in the download section of TLR (under one of his models), from his
profile on the forums, or trip on over to Ioncross to find out more information.

Wanderer was instrumental along with several other members at Lancers Reactor for getting modifications
working, and teaching the new how to do this as well. One of the best contributors and sources of knowledge
there were.

Giskard owns the models and therefore reserves the right to use the models if anyone else modifies them.
You must ask permission from Giskard to use his models if you wish to have them in a mod.
You may ask him via the forums of his website.

Giskard is currently working with a group of modders for X2 the threat, although his own Hostile Universe
modification remains popular, and one of the best single player modifications out there. He has also produced
many documents for the community in the aid of teaching modding techniques, handy tools like the empty dll
file and more. Giskard has also created many mods in the past for other games, including Mechwarriors
and Medival total war. Giskard was another person who was instrumental in enabling popular modifications
via teaching people at Lancers Reactor - and remains a friend.

Original Textures by Firebase
Evolutions Textures by PantherX

The above mentioned ships are all modelled and made by Firebase, who has a ship-pack containing those said
ships. Firebase also textured the ships, and continues to contribute freely to the freelancer community.
You can find Firebase at Lancers Reactor, although I believe he is also working upon a project.
Firebase not only makes ships, but also undertakes a nifty bit of modding himself, where he is the first person
i am aware of to have working traderoutes inside a modification. He aslo moddified many other things in the
game, and is an all round talent. To use any of Firebases models, you MUST ask for permission from Firebase/
Sun Stalker. You may download his shippack from the location of Lancers Reactor - there are links from the
above website URL. Firebase has a new unseen ship in the pipeline.

Firebases ships that appear in Evolutions have been re-textured by PantherX - and some have had their CMP
files slightly altered to accomodate textures, include the extra mounts and more.
All permissions were granted from Firebase for this task.

However, if you wish to use the textures for the ships from Evolutions, you MUST ask for permission from
PantherX (Head of the Modelling Team) or from Pathfinderstudios itself.
You can find contact information at www.pathfinderstudios.com

In the event that you wish to use the models AND textures - permissions must be sought from both parties.

The models remain the property of Firebase.

==========================================|=======================================

*NOTE*
======
People who gave permission for ships to be used have
only given permission to utilise their models and textures as i see fit.
For this fact, they cannot be held accountable for the inclusion of
their models into the mod in anyway, shape or form. They are not answerable to any
problems that may be encountered in this mod. Do not contact these poeple if there
is a problem either.
